Samantha Haedrich is a graphic designer based in the Adirondacks in Upstate New York. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs where she teaches Communication Design.


Graphic Design
Samantha has spent over 20 years working as an independent graphic designer. She collaborates with a wide array of clients to produce thoughtful, engaging, and well-crafted design solutions.

Her work often concentrates on the production of books, printed matter and visual identities for exhibitions and community-led events. Much of her practice has developed through partnering with artists, non-profit organizations and cultural institutions. 

Teaching
Prior to joining the faculty at Skidmore in 2024, Samantha was an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Rochester Institute of Technology (2021–23) and spent a decade as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine (2011–21). During her time in Maine, she served on the board of AIGA Maine from 2012–2021 and was co-founder of the New England Art Book Fair held at SPACE Gallery.

Many of her classes have partnered with local organizations including; Portland Trails, the Maine Audobon, Maine Red Claws, AHL Portland Pirates, WCYY, King Middle School and Rochester’s Friends of Washington Grove.

Background
Samantha grew up in central New Jersey. She holds a BFA in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University.
